Falmouth powerlifter Sean Pond breaks regional squat record

Sean Pond, from Falmouth, competed at the British Drug Free Powerlifting Association (BDFPA) regional event on Sunday, October 18, where he set his sights on securing the squat record to complete his collection of South West titles.

He already held the regional records for bench, deadlift, and overall total.

Sean said: "I am pleased to say that I achieved 4 out of 5 of my goals, only missing the increase on my bench record, which just didn't go to plan on the day."

Although he did not improve his bench record, it still stands unbeaten, allowing him to claim all four South West records.

He will now compete at the BDFPA Nationals in March.

Sean is self-trained and is interested in speaking with potential sponsors to help him reach the World Championships.
