Christopher Daniels Addresses WWE vs. AEW Tribalism

Former AEW World Tag Team Champion Christopher Daniels has shared his thoughts on the ongoing tribalism between WWE and AEW fans, encouraging wrestling audiences to support the industry as a whole rather than focusing on competition between promotions.

During an interview with Going Ringside, Daniels was asked about the divisions among wrestling fans, particularly those who strongly favor one company while criticizing its competitors.

The veteran wrestler expressed his belief that fans who genuinely enjoy professional wrestling should be willing to appreciate the product offered by different promotions. “Listen, if you’re a professional wrestling fan, I think you should support all professional wrestling,” Daniels said.

Daniels acknowledged WWE’s longstanding position in the industry while emphasizing that AEW has established itself as another major destination for wrestling fans. “WWE is the oldest game in the game. They’re the oldest group in the game, but AEW is coming along strong.”

He went on to praise AEW’s weekly programming, arguing that the promotion consistently delivers the type of wrestling that fans should be able to enjoy regardless of their preferred company. “AEW is great, and hopefully, if you like professional wrestling, AEW presents tremendous professional wrestling week in and week out.”

Daniels also had a straightforward response for viewers who remain opposed to AEW despite the wrestling it offers. “So, if you’re against that, I don’t know what to tell you. Go watch something else. That’s fine.”

Despite the criticism AEW sometimes receives, Daniels expressed confidence in the promotion’s existing audience and its ability to continue attracting additional viewers. “But we’ve got plenty of fans, and we’re bringing more fans along the way. I look forward to showing them professional wrestling each and every week.”

Daniels’ comments reflect his view that wrestling fans do not need to choose sides in the rivalry between WWE and AEW. Rather than engaging in arguments over which promotion is superior, the former AEW Tag Team Champion believes audiences should be able to enjoy professional wrestling across different companies.

While Daniels remains firmly supportive of AEW, his message was ultimately directed at the broader wrestling fanbase, encouraging viewers to appreciate the industry beyond promotional loyalties.
