Liverpool is back at Anfield again today, with a clash against Brighton on the cards that will truly test the ability of Andoni Iraola and his group of players.
The Reds came into the weekend with a relatively positive start to the season, picking up three wins and three draws from the opening seven matches in the Premier League.
That had the Merseyside outfit fifth in the division at the start of the gameweek, with the visitors being one of only four teams that had a better opening to the season.
Brighton has picked up five wins and one draw, being one of the in-form teams in the league and the clear top scorers with 23 scored so far.
Considering how challenging the match will be for Liverpool, Iraola will have some difficult decisions to make about his team and who could start at Anfield.
Starting with the backline, the options the head coach will choose from look relatively settled. Alisson is likely to keep his place between the sticks, while Virgil van Dijk and Jeremy Jacquet will continue to build their partnership.
At right-back, the manager has been managing Ronald Araujo's minutes carefully, but he looks likely to start there. Milos Kerkez should retake his position on the left, after he was rested for the Champions League encounter in midweek.
The midfield brings about some interesting decisions, with Dominik Szoboszlai currently unavailable due to injury. Trey Nyoni is making a case with his minutes so far, but Ryan Gravenberch should be given the start after some impressive displays in recent weeks across several positions - discounting the red card against Man City.
Gravenberch should be partnered by Alexis Mac Allister, who has been in some fine form so far this season, and showed as much in midweek with two goals to his name. Florian Wirtz, who has also shown some promising signs in recent weeks, is looking to keep up a run of matches in the number ten position.
There are some key decision to make in the wide positions, even with Victor Munoz likely to miss out through injury, as there are options at Iraola's disposal.
Cody Gakpo's return means that he is one of three players fighting for two positions on the flanks, with Bradley Barcola and Rio Ngumoha holding down those positions as of late. The latter pair may keep their place, with the Netherlands international still managing his way back from injury, while Ngumoha in particular showed some quality in midweek that he will want to take into the next match.
Rounding off the team is likely to be Alexander Isak, who has scored five goals in six Premier League appearances this season, showing more of that clinical edge that was missing during his first season.
Liverpool predicted XI: Alisson; Araujo, Van Dijk, Jacquet, Kerkez; Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Ngumoha, Wirtz, Barcola; Isak.
