Former England National Cricket Team pacer James Anderson is one of the biggest names in English cricket history, with the achievements, skills, and service that he has provided to the game of cricket. He was recently omitted from the contract of his County club, Lancashire. Now the former pacer has decided to leave the county club after the expiration of his contract.

After James Anderson was denied a contract, it got several backlashes for the Lancashire Cricket Club. However, they did not change their decision not to offer a new contract. The former England pacer served the County club captain last season, but they failed and finished at the bottom of the table in Division Two of the County Championship.

"I have always found it special": James Anderson on leaving Lancashire

After Lancashire decided not to offer him a contract, Sir James Anderson decided to leave. He penned an emotional message on his Instagram handle, where he stated that he has supported the club since he was a kid and represented them for 25 years, and it was a dream for him as he has always felt special to play for them at Old Trafford.

He said, "I’ve supported Lancashire since I was kid, and so to get to play for them for 25 years was a dream come true. I have always found it special walking out to play at Old Trafford and have some incredible memories of doing so including the honour of being captain - if it was up to me it wouldn’t have ended like this, but I wish the players and fans all the best for the future."
