Tottenham Hotspur will try to make it four wins on the bounce on Saturday when they take on Leeds United at Elland Road.
Spurs are on an upward trajectory now, having beaten Coventry City, Chelsea and Crystal Palace. They also pinched a credible point against Manchester United at Old Trafford, which actually started the North London club’s resurgence in form. Roberto De Zerbi and Co. were dominant in their 2-0 win over Crystal Palace at home, with Archie Gray and Jan Paul van Hecke getting on the scoresheet.
Ahead of the trip to Leeds United, it looks like one of the injured stars has stepped up his recovery from injury.
Savio got injured before Tottenham’s warm-weather training camp in Marbella. The winger sustained a muscular injury during the 1-1 draw with Man United and has subsequently missed each of the last three games.
Following a brief spell on the sidelines, the 22-year-old appears to have finally returned to action at Hotspur Way. Earlier this week, Savio uploaded a couple of pictures of himself in the dressing room at the training ground, surrounded by teammates who were trying their shoelaces. (h/t Gary Ward on X). The Brazilian was not wearing boots, though; instead, he wore unlaced running trainers, suggesting that he was either not part of the team training at Hotspur Way or perhaps on an individual fitness plan on grass.
Although Savio is still Tottenham’s best statistical attacker in terms of dribbles and chances created, Mohammed Kudus and Mathys Tel have been providing plenty of 1v1 threat, directness and unpredictability from wide areas. Kudus bagged an assist against Crystal Palace, while Tel scored a fantastic solo goal to sink Chelsea the week prior in West London.

Having Savio back fit again would be a huge lift for the Lilywhites. There are big expectations on the Brazilian winger after his £85million move from Manchester City, but De Zerbi said last week that he is not likely to be available until Spurs host Ipswich Town on November 21. The Tottenham boss will be expected to shed light on Savio’s fitness situation when he faces the press on Friday afternoon.
The upcoming international break should ideally provide the 22-year-old with the time required to recover from his muscle injury and make himself available for the gruelling November and December schedule of fixtures.
