Nick Woltemade joined Juventus on loan from Newcastle in the summer transfer window.

Nick Woltemade has won player of the month for Juventus with the player now settling into life in Turn with the Serie A giants. - and Newcastle boss Matthias Jaissle hasn't ruled out him returning to Tyneside.

Newcastle United's record signing helped Juve to a 2-0 win over Napoli last in the battle between the two Italian heavyweight as he played in a front two for Luciano Spalletti's side, and while he did not score, he was given credit for his hold up play as the Germany international was used to relieve pressure at the top of the pitch. Woltemade may not have scored in Serie A so far for Juventus but he has three goals and one assist for his loan club in the Europa League.

After the game last night, Woltemade was presented with the October MVP award on the back of his performances in Europe for the club. The award is voted for by Juve's club members who have clearly opted to get behind the 6ft 6in striker facing an uncertain future on Tyneside.

Newcastle agreed a straight loan deal with Juventus with United shaving off £3m of the £69m paid to Stuttgart thanks to a loan facility fee for the 2026/27. Woltemade does not have a recall clause in his contract while Juve have no obligation to buy the centre-forward at the end of the season.

Although, they remain in the box seat to discuss a future deal with Woltemade in house and Newcastle open to a sale. After playing his part in the victory over Napoli, Woltemade now hopes he can continue his fine Europa League form in Thursday night's fixture at AZ Alkmaar.

Speaking on his role at Juve, Woltemade said last month: "I can certainly play as a number 10 behind the striker, moving around the striker as I did at Stuttgart.

"I hope to replicate that season at Stuttgart where I scored 17 goals and won the German Cup. I'd love to achieve that here too.

"I'm really happy to be in a team like Juventus. A lot of control, a lot of time on the ball and, in these situations, the best things come out of me."

With Newcastle looking short of strikers, Matthias Jaissle explained to German magazine Kicker why he had opted to let Woltemade go out on loan, saying it was a tactical decision. However, he has opened the door for the frontman to return to Tyneside once his loan spell is over.

Jaissle said: "We communicated very clearly where he stood within the team at that moment, particularly considering the way we play football with high pressing. At the time, one or two other players were simply a little ahead of him.

"Open discussions are important regardless of whether someone is your compatriot or not. But I rate him very highly, and of course he remains our player because he's only out on loan."
