The New York Giants (3-2-1) failed to complete the comeback in a 34-27 loss against the New Orleans Saints (2-4) on Sunday at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
Nabers averaged 13.8 yards per reception and recorded a long catch of 46 yards, repeatedly creating opportunities for New York's passing attack. Even as the Giants struggled to keep pace with New Orleans, Nabers continued to produce, helping the offense generate 461 total net yards in the seven-point defeat.
The LSU product's performance was particularly impressive given the quarterback changes New York made during the game. Jameis Winston finished with 152 passing yards, one touchdown and two interceptions before J.J. McCarthy took over and threw for 243 yards and a touchdown. Nabers remained a key target, providing the Giants with a reliable option regardless of who was under center.
Although Nabers did not find the end zone, his 165 receiving yards were more than enough to make him New York's most productive offensive player. His ability to win catches downfield and consistently move the chains helped keep the Giants within striking distance late in the game.
Ultimately, the Giants' defensive struggles and turnovers proved too much to overcome. However, Nabers demonstrated why he remains one of the most important pieces of New York's offense. His 12-catch, 165-yard performance earned him player-of-the-game honors despite the disappointing result.
