The Tennessee Titans entered Week 7 hoping to accomplish something they hadn't done in nearly four years. They haven't won consecutive games since November 2022, and that streak continued with a 27-24 loss to the Cleveland Browns on Sunday.
Unfortunately, that result has now placed the Titans in an unwanted place in NFL history, tying the 2018 Browns for the longest streak without back-to-back wins. Only the 1989 Tampa Bay Buccaneers have a longer streak, as the Titans are set to surpass the Browns this upcoming week, no matter the result.
Tennessee appeared poised to end its consecutive win streak drought after jumping out to a 14-0 first-quarter lead against Cleveland. However, the Browns quickly rallied to take a 17-14 halftime lead, and ultimately won the game on a last-second field goal.
The loss also guaranteed that the Titans' streak will extend to at least 66 games, regardless of their Week 8 result against the Cincinnati Bengals. That will move Tennessee ahead of Cleveland for the longest streak of games without back-to-back wins.
With 10 games remaining this season, the Titans will break the record (75 games) if they don't secure a back-to-back win the rest of the way.
