Emlyn had won when the sides met back in August, and they were looking to extend their three-game winning run.

Neither side could find a goal in the first half of Saturday’s game despite their efforts, and they went in at the break still holding hopes of getting the win.

The first goal of the game came eight minutes into the second half as Osian Thomas scored after being set up by Michael Glover.

Lampeter were still in the game though, and they pulled themselves level in the 82nd minute when Alfie Davies found sub Daniel Burcea who scored to make it 1-1.

However, just a minute later, Sam Brook scored his third goal of the season to put Emlyn back in front.

Lampeter searched for a late equaliser, but Emlyn defended well to see the game out to seal their fifth win of the season.

It moves them three points clear of second-placed Crymych having played a game more.

On Saturday, October 24, Lampeter Town reserves host Crymych while Newcastle Emlyn visit St Dogmaels.

Emlyn then face a double header with Cardigan Town in the league on October 31, before facing them in the League Cup on November 7.
