Dana White brutally ignored as UFC fighter snubs handshake in awkward weigh-in moment

Dana White clearly wasn't impressed when Joaquin Buckley ignored his handshake ahead of at UFC Fight Night 291.

In the early hours of Sunday morning,Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada will host the latest UFC card headlined by welterweight star and local hero Mike Malott.

After losing his last two fights, the bout feels like a must-win for Buckley if he hopes to re-enter the title contention picture, and it appears he's taking things very seriously as he's completely ignoring everyone, including UFC boss White.

Joaquin Buckley ignores Dana White handshake at UFC weigh-ins

Ahead of the bout, both Buckley and Mallott had to weigh-in at the limit for non-title fights in the welterweight division (171lbs/77.56kg).

Thankfully both men weighed in at 170.5lbs, meaning the pair could later attend the ceremonial weigh-ins for one last dramatic face-off ahead of fight night.

As always, UFC president and CEO White was present for the ceremonial weigh-ins to stand in between the pair in case one of them decided to try and get a shot off before the bout.

Showing respect to Buckley, who has rocketed in popularity after getting arguably the best knockout in UFC history n his pro debut, White offered a good luck message and a handshake before the face-off.

But Buckley showed he had no intention of exchanging pleasantries as he completely ignored the UFC boss, who reacted by patting his back as he was clearly confused by the moment.

Buckley continued to stare directly at his opponent, with White looking at Buckley in confusion, before eventually the face-off ended.

Joaquin Buckley continues ignoring UFC in awkward interview

Unfortunately for the UFC, Buckley's strange behaviour didn't stop there as he later completely ignored UFC correspondent McKenzie Pavacich's questions during an interview.

"Well, Joaquin, you said it yourself, Fight Week is a celebration of all the hard work. You are so locked in right now. How have the celebrations been this week?" Pavacich asked.

Instead of replying, Buckley decided to stay completely silent while staring directly at the camera.

But Pavacich soldiered on, thinking, or hoping, he was just being dramatic for the one question.

"All right, I think that says more than any words could. Now, third UFC main event, how much confidence do you bring from the previous ones that you've had?" Pavacich followed up with but again received no response.

Pavacich asked one more question, but was again ignored, so decided to close out the interview early, saying: ""This might be a first for me, guys. Joaquin, we will let you stay locked in, get ready for this fight. Best of luck to you. Guys, we'll send it back to you."

Buckley vs Mallott is set to headline UFC Fight Night 291, with the main card featuring Erin Blanchfield, Marc-André Barriault, Kyle Nelson and several others set to begin from 1am on Sunday morning.
