The SEC just had the most chaotic week yet with numerous upset wins in Week 7. The Auburn Tigers upset the No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs to stun the SEC's last remaining undefeated team. Georgia is no longer the top team in our SEC power rankings as a result. However, the other top teams in a power rankings, Texas and Alabama, also suffered defeats.
Alabama lost on the road to Tennessee 26-10 and has now lost two straight games for the first time since 2007. Texas lost to Florida 27-24 as Texas is also on a two game losing streak. Texas was a preseason darling, but has some significant flaws.
In a battle of one-loss teams, the Ole Miss Rebels dominated the Missouri Tigers 31-3. We trust Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss and rank the Rebels No. 1 in our power rankings, but there's not a lot separating the Rebels from other teams ranked No. 1 through No. 10 in our power rankings. Ole Miss, Georgia, Tennessee and Kentucky all only have one loss in SEC play.
Kentucky earned a low-scoring, defensive win over Oklahoma in Week 7. Kentucky is 4-1 in the SEC, which is tied for the best record in the conference with Georgia.
LSU demolished Mississippi State, who was without quarterback Kamario Taylor. LSU is lurking along with several other two-loss teams in the SEC. Texas A&M earned a 41-0 win over The Citadel, but is still only 1-3 in SEC play. Arkansas knocked off Vanderbilt in a battle of two of the SEC's worst teams.
Ole Miss Rebels (5-1)
Tennessee Volunteers (6-1)
Missouri Tigers (5-2)
Oklahoma Sooners (3-3)
Arkansas Razorbacks (3-4)
Vanderbilt Commodores (3-4)
