Man United were a bit static. There needs to be so much more. The players need to understand when you come out here, what the fans expect is it's just a given to run, to work hard, to out run a team.
When you concede early you're on the back foot straight away. It's decisions that are being made that are not working and that are so easy to eradicate but you're not doing it so it's always going to be tough.

I don't think some of these players are of the standard of Man United players of previous. They're a mid-table team at the moment, they've got a couple of stars but it's not lit up with the house hold names we're used to before.

The players have to take some responsibility.
Some of the individual mistakes from players today, the defending, has been really poor.
Matheus Cunha sees his effort blocked. Manchester United's response to going behind two goals in this half has not been as full-throttle as the first half.

Former Manchester United captain on Sky Sports
Nightmare start for United, they never got going. Villa looked sharp.
The keeper has to be doing better. It's poor from United and it was a standard save. Villa probably couldn't have believed their luck, but then they gave United a helping hand.
Manchester United are well on top at the moment and have been pretty much peppering the opposition goal.
But that nightmare start is so far proving costly.

Good game, really open, end to end. Man United are now having to over commit.
Once Villa turn over that ball, they get running at that Man United back line.
In 2026, Bruno Fernandes ranks first for each of chances created (104), open play chances created (80), big chances created (27), successful final third passes (531), passes/crosses played into the opposition box (289), and through balls (29). He’s averaging 3.8 chances created per 90 minutes under Michael Carrick, the best by any United player under a single manager in the league since 2003-04 (min. 1,000 mins played).

The response Michael Carrick got from those supporters [after the 3-0 loss against Bournemouth].
Football supporters nowadays are very educated and they understand.
The vehicles that they have with social media, the channels they can get their information from. Football supporters are more educated than they have been in a long time.
Those fans know if it is not Carrick, then whoever is standing in that dugout is performing with their hands tied behind their back.
