The Seattle Seahawks made a statement on Sunday night as they look to repeat as Super Bowl champions. Seattle took down the Kansas City Chiefs, who were undefeated and one of the top teams in the AFC, in convincing fashion on Sunday Night Football.

The way the Seahawks shut down a high-powered Kansas City offense (albeit one missing more than a few names) turned a few heads, with Super Bowl champion WR Greg Jennings among those expressing concern about the Chiefs’ outlook for the rest of the season.

Greg Jennings Dampens His Expectations for the Chiefs

The Chiefs were completely outmatched for the first time in the 2026 season as the Seahawks rolled to a statement victory after not having the best start to the season themselves.

Kansas City’s offense dominated all defenses they faced through Week 6, but Seattle proved to be a force they couldn’t overcome. Jennings was particularly concerned with Kansas City’s inability to match the physicality that Seattle played with.

“They were just flat-out dominated. They were bullied. They were out-physicaled,”Jennings said on “First Things First.”

The Chiefs don’t have to panic, because they are off to such a great start. Mahomes looks back to his normal self with his ability to move after his ACL tear, and Kenneth Walker III has been one of the best running backs in the NFL so far. Walker is the top-ranked back in PFN’s RB Impact score with a grade of 94.1, but the Seahawks limited their former star to just 36 yards after tallying at least 117 rushing yards in four of his first five games.

Kansas City has a big game against the Broncos in Week 8. The Chiefs will have to travel to Denver to take on their division rival and seemingly the only threat to the Chiefs for the AFC West crown.

The Broncos stopped Kansas City from winning their 10th straight division title last season, and the Chiefs will want it back.

A victory would give Kansas City a sweep of its season series against Denver and a 1.5-game lead in the AFC West. A loss would leave the teams tied 1-1 head-to-head and put the Broncos half a game ahead in the standings.

It’s likely that this loss by the Chiefs is more about the strength of the Seahawks than the weakness of the Chiefs. The Seahawks are the reigning champions, after all. Jaxon Smith-Njigba keeps on getting better, and the defense is finding its form once again.
