AC Milan are exploring an ambitious move to sign Manchester United defender Leny Yoro next summer, according to Calciomercato.
Article continues under the videoThe Serie A heavyweights are reportedly keen on overhauling their defence after conceding 12 goals in 10 games this season.
Calciomercato understands Milan are hoping to sign a new centre-back in January, with Bayern Munich ace Kim Min-Jae among their options.
And the Italian outlet claims Milan will then try to sign another centre-back at the end of the season, with Yoro being their dream target.
The 20-year-old is familiar to Milan boss Ruben Amorim, with the pair having worked together at United between November 2024 and January 2026.
However, it is believed Milan would need to pay between €40million and €50m (£33.5m and £41.9m) to extract Yoro from United.
France international Yoro, who joined United from Lille for €62m (£52.2m) in July 2024, is tied to Old Trafford until the summer of 2029.
The Red Devils also have the option to extend his contract by a further year, meaning they are in a strong negotiating position.
Yoro has started the last three games for United, two of them at right-back, but was sent off in the loss to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League on 13 October.
He has made 73 appearances in total for United, scoring once.
Yoro is the latest United player to be linked with a move to Milan, with loose speculation claiming the Italian club are also keeping tabs on Joshua Zirkzee.
The Netherlands striker joined United from Bologna for €43.5m (£36.5m) in July 2024 but he has scored just 10 goals in 82 appearances.
Despite the absence of Benjamin Sesko, United boss Michael Carrick has overlooked Zirkzee in favour of using Bryan Mbeumo through the middle in recent weeks.
However, Zirkzee did come off the bench to score in the sorry 4-1 loss at Como in the Champions League on Wednesday evening.
United manager Carrick is under huge pressure after presiding over a poor run of form which has yielded just two wins from 11 games this season.
Bruno Fernandes questioned Carrick’s tactics against Como, while Lisandro Martinez criticised technical director Jason Wilcox after the loss to Atletico.
Carrick is hoping to ease the pressure on his shoulders by leading United to a home victory over Bournemouth in the Premier League this afternoon.
