Believe it or not, we’re less than two weeks into the NBA season. With how much has already happened, that seems crazy.

Devastating injuries, star rookies and breakout players have defined the early part of this season, and we’re still five months away from the playoffs. Savvy dynasty managers won’t overreact to how players have played to this point, though they may trade away overperformers and buy low on proven players that have struggled.

It will be hard for any player to pass Victor Wembanyama in dynasty rankings for the next five years at least, but if anyone can make a case, it’s Cooper Flagg. So far this season, he has averaged 26.8 points, 6.0 rebounds, 6.6 assists, 2.6 steals, 1.2 blocks and 1.4 three-pointers per game while shooting 55.7 percent from the floor and 85.3 percent from deep. Oh, and he’s still 19 years old until late next month.

This rookie class has had plenty of hype, and Darius Acuff Jr. is a name that has come up as a player that was drafted outside of the heralded top-four that could win Rookie of the Year. I always considered that to be a longshot, but with how he has played so far, his chances are legitimate. Cameron Boozer is the favorite, and his team being 6-0, while Acuff’s Kings are 0-6, could end up being a deciding factor. However, Acuff’s sheer volume, plus his surprising shooting efficiency for a rookie guard, will give him a chance to make the All-Rookie First Team.
