With Swindon 1-0 up courtesy of a fabulous run and drive into the corner from Clark, Swindon needed their goalkeeper to stand up and keep them in the game.
Ripley made nine saves during the first half from an xGOT of 3.34, and three of them came in rapid succession, as he went left and right to leave Barnet wondering how they weren’t ahead.
Clark admitted that he was not much the wiser, even if he always knew that Ripley was the kind of goalkeeper who was capable of producing the sublime.
He said: “I've been with Rippers for a long time at Port Vale as well, and I've always known what sort of keeper he is.
“I said to him in the change room, ‘You must be the best ‘keeper I've ever played with,’ and I think every week it shows why.
“I don't think I've seen any better save at any level. It was unbelievable. I can remember just standing there thinking, ‘What is going on?’
“We knew we were going to be under sustained pressure at some points, but when you've got Rippers that's behind you, and obviously a back five at the time that want to put their bodies on the line, we know we can defend, and we can score goals with Drins [Aaron Drinan] up there.
Clark had a big moment of his own, as Drinan found him deep on the left side from a Barnet corner, and he broke away, chopped inside and slammed the ball into the bottom corner.
He said: “I was on the edge of the box today for corners against, and I saw Drins getting the ball, so I thought, ‘why not go on a little jolly up down the line?’
“I was just seeing the space in front of me, so carried on, seeing the opportunity to cut inside and put it in the bottom bins.
“I'm obviously naturally a fullback, but as my career has developed, teams have to play different ways, so I've adapted to being a wing back, and I enjoy going forward.
“When you play wing back, you're in a bit of a higher position, so you can get those chances.
“Seeing that chance against Walsall, and obviously today, I feel like I'm going to create quite a bit.”
