Raiders elevate intriguing rookie edge rusher Week 6 vs Bills

For the first time this season, the Raiders have elevated Cian Slone from the practice squad. The rookie edge rusher went undrafted out of NC State and impressed the Raiders coaches enough in training camp and preseason to stick around on the practice squad.

Slone showed well for himself in the preseason. He put up six combined tackles on defense, one sack, one tackle for loss, and two QB hits. And his two special teams tackles tied for the team lead.

It's most likely his special teams duties that got him the call up. But he did show some intriguing qualities as an edge rusher, so it will be interesting if he sees any time on defense as well.

Over three college seasons at NC State and Utah State, the 24-year-old put up 138 combined tackles, 22.5 tackles for loss, and 11 sacks.

If Slone is active for the game, it will be interesting to note who is inactive.
