When impactful players on the Denver Broncos come to mind, one may think of quarterback Bo Nix, wide receiver Jaylen Waddle or even cornerback Pat Surtain.
However, wide receiver Marvin Mims gave the title of "best player" on the team to an unsung hero: punter Jeremy Crawshaw.
"Jeremy Crawshaw, I don’t know if I’ve said it publicly, but he’s been our best player the entire season," Mims said last Sunday. "Him being able to pin offenses back—it’s a huge thing as far as field position goes. It’s been huge for our team. So still, little stuff like that, it’s a hit in yardage that no one really pays attention to but it’s a huge thing when it comes to the total of the game.”
Although Crawshaw has punted 41 times (tied for first), he has punted for the most yards (1,968) and has the seventh-longest punt in the NFL this year (68 yards), averaging 48 yards a punt (14th), and is tied for the second-highest net punt average (44.2 yards). He has also landed the second-most punts inside the 20-yard line (18) in the league.
Crawshaw was named to the PFWA All-Rookie team in 2025, and he has just continued to impress as the season has continued to evolve. Crawshaw has more than made the decision to cut veteran Matt Heck when he was drafted worth it for coach Sean Payton and the Broncos.
Crawshaw's field-flipping display will take its journey to Charlotte, North Carolina, when Denver faces the Carolina Panthers on Sunday in Week 9.
