The Washington Commanders wrapped up their final practice on Saturday ahead of their Week 6 game against the San Francisco 49ers on Monday night. In some good news, Washington could have its top two wideouts, Terry McLaurin and Stefon Diggs, back on the field together for Monday’s critical contest against the 49ers.
McLaurin missed one game with a hamstring injury and battled through it last week against the Giants. Diggs missed last week’s game. McLaurin will play on Monday, while Diggs is officially listed as questionable. It’s potentially great news for a Washington team that badly needs a win and faces one of the NFL’s last three unbeaten teams.
The Commanders will be without one offensive starter on Monday night: running back Jacory Croskey-Merritt. He dealt with a groin injury last week, which limited his touches in the second half against New York. Bill was having his best game of the season, but did not play a lot in the second half due to the injury. He did not practice all week. Croskey-Merritt had 11 carries for 82 yards and a touchdown last week.
In his place, Austin Ekeler, Rachaad White and maybe Jeremy McNichols will take turns leading Washington's backfield. McNichols remains on the PUP list, but is questionable for Monday's game and could be activated.
Here’s the Commanders’ final injury report for Monday night:
RB Jacory-Croskey-Merritt (groin); OLB Javontae Jean-Baptiste (pectoral); QB Marcus Mariota (knee); DE Charles Omenihu (groin/ankle)
CB Trey Amos (ankle); S Percy Butler (hamstring); S Nick Cross (illness); WR Stefon Diggs (hamstring); DT Javon Kinlaw (ankle/knee); LB Jordan Magee (hamstring); RB Jeremy McNichols (quad); S Tyler Owens (hamstring); C Lucas Patrick (illness)
The Commanders listed nine players as questionable, but all practiced in some capacity on Saturday, with four participating fully.
