Nottingham Forest have had a disastrous start to the Premier League season, sitting in the relegation zone with one win from seven. But Liam Delap has insisted he isn’t worried.
After Nottingham Forest were beaten by Arsenal last weekend, it meant that Oliver Glasner’s side fell to 19th in the league, which is an unsustainable low that needs to be temporary. Otherwise, Evangelos Marinakis will start to consider options.

This season, Forest are a top-six side based on expected points, but unfortunately for Glasner, they have had the worst underperformance in the entire league, leaving the Reds 19th.
Liam Delap is aware of the difference between the performance and points attained for Forest and has made this clear in an interview.
“Every single game since I’ve been here, I think we’ve deserved to win,” Delap admitted to The Telegraph.
“It’s hard to be too disappointed because we’ve been performing well, so it’s about putting that into points. We’re not worried at all. We need to be a little bit more ruthless, and we could be in a much better place.”
Delap is absolutely right. Before losing to Arsenal, Forest were third in the table for expected points, and this shows that with better finishing and more luck defensively, Glasner’s side wouldn’t be sitting worrying about relegation.
While showing some promising signs, Delap has only got a conversion rate of 5.5% this season, which is really poor in comparison to the player Forest will need him to be. He has missed three big chances this season for Forest, which would have been decisive in a handful of points.
Delap has shown improved levels compared to how he fared at Chelsea, but Glasner needs more, and importantly, better, more consistent finishing.
He is capable of reaching these levels and scoring a lot more goals, and he will need to if Forest are going to start winning the games that the performances are deserving of; his finishing could be the difference between Glasner succeeding and not.
