The Indianapolis Colts could be facing the Dallas Cowboys at close to full strength at wide receiver on Sunday, Nov. 8.
Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer provided an update Friday regarding star receiver George Pickens, who has been hampered by a hamstring injury prior to the Week 9 matchup.
During an appearance on 105.3 The Fan, Schottenheimer indicated that Dallas is hopeful Pickens will be available against Indianapolis.
The receiver was limited in practice Wednesday and Thursday because of the hamstring issue. He is officially listed as questionable for Sunday's game.
Pickens has continued playing through injuries in recent weeks, despite his offensive involvement declining.
The 25-year-old caught just two passes for 48 yards on four targets during Dallas' 33-30 overtime loss to the Arizona Cardinals in Week 8.
His reduced playing time has also generated doubts about the Cowboys' offensive approach.
However, offensive coordinator Klayton Adams explained Thursday that Pickens' limited workload has been injury-related rather than a reflection of his performance.
"There's been a couple of weeks now where George has been banged up, and we've limited him in some capacities because of that," Adams said, according to Dallas Sports Journal.
Pickens' availability could be huge for an Indianapolis defense aiming to rebound from a rough stretch.
The Colts surrendered 42 points in their Week 8 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars and will now prep to defend a Dallas passing attack featuring Pickens and fellow standout receiver CeeDee Lamb.
Indianapolis and Dallas will kick off Sunday at 1 p.m. ET at Lucas Oil Stadium, with the game airing on FOX.
