For the third consecutive week, the Green Bay Packers elevated edge rusher and special teamer Arron Mosby from the practice squad to the gameday roster. Mosby will be available for Matt LaFleur's team on Thursday night against the Carolina Panthers.
The gameday roster move is motivated mostly by special teams.
While Mosby can play snaps at edge rusher, where the Packers are dealing with an injury to Brenton Cox Jr., he is mostly a special teamer, having been on the field for over 200 special teams snaps in both 2024 and 2025. Mosby played 24 special teams snaps over the last two weeks and made a tackle covering a kickoff in Week 6 against the Dallas Cowboys.
The Packers ruled out three players (linebacker Zaire Franklin, center Sean Rhyan and right guard Travis Glover) and listed four as questionable, including receiver Matthew Golden, defensive tackle Devonte Wyatt and cornerback Keisean Nixon, but the Packers clearly feel comfortable with their depth across the 48-man gameday roster entering Thursday night.
Mosby is now out of elevations and would need to be signed to the 53-man roster to play again for the Packers in 2026. He will go back to the practice squad on Friday. The three other players to be elevated by the Packers this season -- Bo Melton, Kristian Welch and Coleman Owen -- have all been signed to the 53-man roster.
Week 1: WR Bo Melton, LB Kristian Welch
Week 6: EDGE Arron Mosby, WR Coleman Owen
Week 7: EDGE Arron Mosby
Week 8: EDGE Arron Mosby
