Caleb Williams operates the Chicago Bears' offense like an All-Star point guard, and his biggest assist came on the sidelines with Rome Odunze. After the third-year receiver dropped a touchdown pass Thursday against the New England Patriots, Williams put his arm around Williams and instilled confidence in him instead of knocking him down.
Odunze responded with a key first-down catch that required incredible body control, as well as the game-sealing onside kick recovery. Thanks to NFL's Mic'd Up, we can hear Williams telling Odunze exactly how that 21-yard fourth-quarter completion would go down.
"Hit the gas with speed, flip eyes fast," Williams said. "Because then I can get up and down to your back shoulder faster."
Williams has been sensational since returning from a hamstring injury that cost him three starts. After two games in five days, he'll have ample time to rest before Monday Night Football against the Seattle Seahawks on Nov. 2.
