RC Lens have reportedly decided not to sell away-end tickets to their supporters for the derby against LOSC Lille , according to La Voix du Nord.
This decision comes in the wake of the incidents that occurred during the Sang et Or’s away match at Club Brugge on Wednesday in the Champions League, where numerous smoke flares were set off, some of which were thrown onto the pitch and hurled towards a Belgian stand where supporters with reduced mobility were seated.
Having already been sanctioned following their trip to Prague in September, Lens are therefore likely to face further sanctions from UEFA. And these are certain to be significant.
Notified of the situation, representatives of certain supporters’ groups are due to meet with Lens’s management shortly, who are exasperated by the dangerous and repeated behaviour of some of their members. As a reminder, several dozen smoke bombs had already been set off during the away match at Troyes ten days ago, leading to the match being halted for a few minutes.
