The Carolina Panthers have made their latest addition, or promotion, official.

As announced on Wednesday, the team has signed running back Anthony "Tre" Tyus III to their active roster. The 23-year-old now moves up from the practice squad in place of rookie offensive tackle Albert Reese IV, who was waived on Tuesday.

Tyus, who entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Detroit Lions in 2025, first signed with the Panthers at the beginning of last October. He'd return on a reserve/future contract in January, then stuck on through the offseason before joining the practice squad at the start of the 2026 campaign.

Carolina has used Tyus in three of their five games thus far, with his last appearance coming in the Week 6 win over the Philadelphia Eagles. He was also on kick return duties in the Week 3 loss to the Cleveland Browns and the Week 4 victory over the Detroit Lions, totaling 127 yards on five attempts.

In addition, the Panthers designated inside linebacker Bam Martin-Scott to return to practice.
