Juventus plans to exercise its €8 million option to sign Guglielmo Vicario from Tottenham, according to Tuttosport. Juventus also took Kamil Grabara on loan from Wolfsburg last summer, leaving the choice of a long-term starter open.
Grabara made his debut in a 5-0 Europa League win over NEC, then tore his ACL in training two days later. Vicario kept a clean sheet in Sunday’s 2-0 win over Napoli, denying Lorenzo Lucca in the seventh minute with the game still scoreless.
Vicario was the only Italian in Luciano Spalletti’s starting lineup against Napoli. Juventus CEO Giovanni Carnevali said this week that he wants more Italian players in the squad.
Under the agreement Juventus announced in August, Tottenham receives no fee for the loan, which runs through June 30, 2027. Juventus would pay the €8 million over three financial years. Performance bonuses could take the total to €10 million.
