It’s a reasonable prediction given how many chances they’ve been creating, but making an example of tonight’s third-placed visitors would be quite the achievement.
Vice captain Robbie Fraser said: “There’s still confidence, no matter what game you go into. We know Partick Thistle are a good team, and they’re up there for a reason.
“We feel like we’re playing really well, creating lots of chances, playing attacking football that we want to play and going through the lines.
“It’s building and it’s brewing and it feels like somebody’s really going to take a hit off us.”
But frustration is also rising among fans at Dunfermline's toothlessness in front of goal during recent games.
Fraser commented: “We’re giving the attacking players lots of chances in front of goal and sadly it’s just not coming off.
“It feels like another chance missed every time we come out of a game having dropped points when we should be winning.”
Saturday’s 0-0 draw at home to Livingston was the second fixture on the trot to see Pars pick up a single point.
“If we can create for them (the forwards) at the back and one of them goes in, I’m sure they’ll start to pick up a few goals each,” said Fraser.
“We need to keep pushing, that’s the mindset we need to have.”
He said that it was nice to play with Olly Thomas, who came on as a substitute for the last 14 minutes on Saturday.
Fraser, who was acting captain during the clash, said after full-time: “He’s looking a bit sharp, so hopefully we can get him ready for Thistle and next Saturday.”
Thomas said: “If I need to start then I’m more than happy to. It’s one of those things of being wary on the minutes, but if the gaffer wants me to start, there’s no reason I won’t.”
