Truro City are full of confidencee that they can cause an FA Cup upset against Sutton United and reach the First Round Proper for only the second time ever.
Only once before have Truro reached the First Round Proper of the FA Cup, in 2017, a milestone manager John Askey is eager to replicate.
"It would be great if we can get to the first round," Askey said. "The club has only ever done it once, so it would be special if we could get a result on Saturday. There's nothing like the FA Cup to create a lot of interest, and then it’s always nice in the first round to see who you draw."
But standing between Truro and a place in the main draw is a trip to National League side Sutton United - and while they are from the division above, the Tinners won 3-0 at Sutton last season, and come into the tie having lost just twice in 14 outings this season.
"Last season we probably could have scored more goals, but a season on seems a long time ago," Askey added. "Their team's changed, our team's changed a little bit, and every game is different.
"We know it's going to be tough. Obviously they're favorites and we're probably massive underdogs, but it is just on the day, isn't it? And that is the magic of the FA Cup
"That's what attracts us to it, everyone wanting the underdog to win. We've seen many upsets bigger than Truro beating Sutton. There's no reason we can't go there, put on a good show, and possibly get through.
"It would be really special. With the FA Cup, every round you progress, the more interest that goes with it. If we do get through and get a decent draw—especially if you can get the television cameras down, it can bring in a lot of money for the football club."
