Broncos made several roster moves ahead of Cardinals game

The Denver Broncos made a series of roster moves ahead of their Week 7 matchup with the Arizona Cardinals.

First, the Broncos have elevated cornerback Sean Fresch and safety Taylor Rapp from the practice squad to the game-day roster for Week 7. Rapp's elevation comes as starting safety Talanoa Hufanga is still absent with an ankle injury and was ruled out for the second week in a row. While Rapp did not get the start (2025 All-Pro special teamer Devon Key got the start) in Week 6, he did end up getting most of the snaps at Hufanga's spot in last week's game.

Fresch was also elevated in Week 6, returning one kick for 24 yards in the Week 6 victory over the Seattle Seahawks.

In corresponding roster moves, the Broncos placed running back Tyler Badie (thumb) and pass rusher Jonah Elliss (ankle) on the short-term injured reserve list. Both players will now miss a minimum of four games.

Badie broke his thumb in pass protection in the Week 6 win, according to the Denver Gazette's Chris Tomasson. That left the Broncos with just two running backs on the active roster during last week's game.

Meanwhile, Elliss suffered an ankle injury late in the fourth quarter, hopping off the field before eventually being carted off of the sideline. Earlier this week, coach Sean Payton expressed optimism that Elliss' injury would not be season-ending, but that he would miss some time. Both players are now eligible to return in Week 12. .
