A former WWE Superstar could be preparing for a return after several months of speculation about his future with the company.
A new backstage report suggests that an agreement may already be in place, although the promotion has yet to confirm the development.
The potential comeback has attracted attention because his former tag team partner has already returned to WWE, leaving fans wondering whether the two could eventually reunite.
However, the latest update points towards a possible move to a different brand.
According to PWInsider Elite, as first discussed on its We Don’t Need No Stinkin’ Name Show, there is belief that Enzo Amore signed a new WWE contract over the past week.
The outlet is still working to verify his return, but one source believes he could be heading to NXT.
Amore, also known as Real1 and nZo on the independent scene, reportedly visited the WWE Performance Center in May. That appearance sparked fresh speculation about a comeback, particularly with his former tag team partner Big Cass also linked to a potential return.
Cass eventually made his WWE comeback as a singles competitor on RAW in early August, but Amore wasn’t part of the reunion. The pair previously formed one of WWE’s popular tag teams, with Amore also becoming a two-time Cruiserweight Champion during his original run.
Amore departed WWE in 2018 following a sexual assault allegation. The subsequent investigation resulted in no criminal charges being filed. He has continued wrestling on the independent circuit since leaving the company, competing in three matches last month. His latest outing was a victory over Nate Mattson at World Classic Professional Big Time Wrestling’s Slam-O-Ween event on October 24.
For now, WWE hasn’t officially announced Amore’s return, and the reported contract signing remains unconfirmed. Whether the self-proclaimed “realest guy in the room” will make his way back to NXT is the next question.
