The NFL's trade deadline is less than a week away and while the Denver Broncos are expected to explore bringing in new weapons, Denver might also consider shipping out a few players in the final year of their contracts.
One of those players is wide receiver Marvin Mims. The 24-year-old receiver is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent in 2027, and while he has earned All-Pro and Pro Bowl selections as a returner, Mims hasn't made a big impact for the Broncos on offense this season.
Mims has totaled nine receptions for 92 yards through six games (he missed two games due to injury) this fall. Meanwhile, Denver has other players, such as rookie Kolbe Katsis, who have proven to be capable returners.
So if Mims isn't being utilized much on offense and the Broncos have other options in the return game, should they trade Mims now instead of letting him walk in free agency next spring?
Pat Bryant is eligible to return from injured reserve this week, and he'll take even more receiver reps away from Mims in the second half of the season. If Denver's already not planning to re-sign Mims in 2027, it might make sense to listen to trade offers ahead of this year's deadline (Nov. 10).
