Young skip Robert Johns and his rink won the last seven ends to finish 13-2 up, while his mum Debbie withstood a strong comeback by Hutton to make the overall winning margin five shots.

A power cut which affected a number of properties in the area, including their clubhouse, meant that St Andrews had to postpone their national Top Club match against Nailsea on Sunday.

However, the day before, friendly captain Robin Potter organised one of the popular in-house matches, which resulted in Ghosts beating Ghouls by 14 shots.

This weekend is a busy one for Saints, with two matches against Nailsea, the women in the Yetton Plate on Saturday and the mixed team contesting the Egham Trophy on Sunday.
