Green Bay Packers wide receiver Matthew Golden was fined by the league for an on-field action for the second time in three weeks. The NFL fined Golden $12,537 for striking/kicking/kneeing under the umbrella of unnecessary roughness for a play in the second quarter of the Packers' 27-19 win over the Carolina Panthers in Week 8.
Golden was previously fined for taunting -- after flexing toward a defender following a catch -- in Week 6 against the Dallas Cowboys.
This time, Golden was fined for striking an opponent at the end of a play at the 8:14 mark of the second quarter in Week 8. Panthers cornerback Marco Wilson was penalized on the play, but it is Golden who will pay the fine. Wilson was not fined by the league.

The video shows Golden clearly taking a swing and connecting with the helmet of Wilson.
Because of the two fines, Golden is now out $24,478 for actions in the month of October. He is the only Packers player to be fined more than once in 2026 so far. Matt LaFleur's team has had a player fined for an on-field action during each of the last three weeks.
