‘How Much Is This Gonna Cost?’ ‘Crazy Long Shot’ — Giants Fans Have Their Say as Speculation Links Franchise With Trade For Pro Bowl WR

The New York Giants have had an inconsistent start to the 2026 season, leaving the team with several questions to address as the season continues.

The Giants currently sit at 3-2-1, but their loss to the New Orleans Saints on Sunday exposed some concerns that they must address. While the team looks to boost its roster and remain competitive in the NFC East race, it will need to decide which positions deserve the most attention.

With the November 10 trade deadline approaching, New York could explore opportunities to improve its roster, and a former Pro Bowl wide receiver could become one of its targets.

Fans React as Giants Insider Sparks Trade Buzz With Malik Nabers Connection

NFL insider Jeremy Fowler reported that multiple league executives believe Jacksonville will seriously consider moving Brian Thomas Jr. following a decline in his role. Thomas could reportedly be traded over the next few weeks.

Amid the growing trade speculation, ESPN’s Giants reporter Jordan Raanan floated the possibility of Thomas joining New York.

“Now that is an interesting name! Brian Thomas Jr. is also extremely close to Malik Nabers,” Raanan wrote.

The possibility of the two receivers playing together again has excited fans, especially given how effective they were during their final season at LSU in 2023.

“Crazy long shot for it to happen, but if BTJ (is going to) reclaim his career, can’t think of a better spot than the Giants, where one of his best friends plays, or the Commanders, where one of his other best friends plays,” a person said.

Thomas entered the league with heavy expectations after being selected in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. He delivered an incredible rookie season, recording 1,282 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns while earning a Pro Bowl selection.

However, Thomas’ sophomore season in 2025 was more challenging, and his production has continued to decline in 2026. With his role shrinking and no receptions over the past two weeks, questions have emerged about his future in Jacksonville.

Those struggles could also affect the compensation the Jaguars might demand in a potential trade.

“How much is this gonna cost, a 2nd?” a fan questioned.

“Don’t hate this at all. I still feel like they need to give (Malachi) Fields more of an opportunity,” one added.

Thomas ranks No. 66 in the PFN’s WR Impact Metric with a 71.1 score. A potential trade to New York would offer him more than just a reunion with Nabers, as he could also reconnect with Chad Hall, who coached him during his outstanding rookie season in Jacksonville.

Hall is now the Giants’ wide receivers coach, giving him firsthand experience with the kind of production Thomas can deliver when operating at his best.

However, not everyone in New York believes adding another wide receiver should be a priority.

“We do not need WRs,” a fan said.

“If we’re going to make a trade, it should not be on a WR. RB, IOL, DT, EDGE, are all more important positions to target,” one said.

The decision will ultimately depend on Jacksonville’s willingness to trade Thomas and the level of interest from potential suitors. Fowler identified the Kansas City Chiefs and Pittsburgh Steelers as teams that could be interested in the receiver.
