The St Gabriel’s School pupil enjoyed an outstanding weekend, adding two Brazilian jiu-jitsu gold medals to her European triumph and winning both of her BJJ contests by submission.
Sienna trains six days a week across several disciplines, including MMA, BJJ and judo, and hopes to earn a place in the England squad next year.
Her proud dad, Dan Babut, believes the success could be just the beginning.
“As a dad, watching Sienna and the girls chase their dreams and strive to reach the very top is truly inspiring,” he said.
“Winning the European Championship is an incredible achievement, but for us, it’s just the start. We have big ambitions and want to go all the way to the top.
“It’s an exciting journey built on hard work, determination and belief in what’s possible.
“We feel incredibly fortunate to have world-class coaching and are so grateful for the amazing support the girls have received from our community.”
Sienna initially trained in Muay Thai in Whitefield before her coach recommended Northern Spirit Thai Boxing, in Sale, where she now trains alongside sister Grace.
The gym is home to current and former world champions, and the family hope the experience will help Sienna continue her rapid development and eventually compete internationally.
Northern Spirit owner and head trainer Lisa Howarth believes both sisters have the potential to reach the highest level.
“Grace and Sienna give 100 per cent in training, and we firmly believe they both have the ability to reach the world stage and win at the highest level,” she said.
“Sienna’s European success is just the beginning. She is progressing incredibly quickly, and we’re excited to see what the future holds for her.”
The sisters also train at Bury MMA, where owner and England MMA squad coach Jonno Mears has been impressed by their dedication.
“You see lots of kids come through who enjoy training and are dedicated, but you don’t see many who are quite as dedicated as these girls,” he said.
“They are both extremely talented, and I believe they have what it takes to progress into the England MMA squad and reach the very top of the sport.”
The girls’ journey is also set to feature on screen after they began filming a short film based around combat sports, the first production by actor Nico Mirallegro.
Their family are now seeking sponsorship and backing from local businesses to help fund future competitions abroad and give Sienna the chance to gain more international experience.
