Camilo Duran and two more miss Celtic training as fringe men state case for Benfica start – 11 things we spotted

We took a peek inside Celtic's final session before flying out to Lisbon

Camilo Duran was posted missing from Celtic training – but the show went on ahead of Thursday's box office clash with Benfica in Lisbon.

The Hoops travel to a venue that 50 years ago was home to the most famous success in their history, but it's all about making new memories for Martin O'Neill and his team.

Benfica pose the biggest challenge they've faced this season but the man who masterminded their run to Seville in 2002 has been quick to remind them what can be done on the European stage.

Shaun Maloney was in charge of their final training session before flying out and news that Duran was absent, with Jota and Cameron Carter-Vickers also not spotted at the session, was a concern.

But the men who did train were hard at it and here is what we spotted.

The session was as much about who wasn't there as who was. Duran and Carter-Vickers weren't seen and while it may just be precautionary in the case of Duran, but it's not ideal preparation for such a monumental European game. And Jota - while he has returned to action - is not on the league phase squad list, and looks to have been given a rest.1 of 9

Youngsters Lucas Clearie and Liam Kennedy were among the rising stars drafted in to make up the numbers with a few key men absent. They'll be keen to make an impression and they have inspiration to draw from, with recent academy graduates Colby Donovan and Dane Murray in line for starts in Lisbon. 3 of 9
