Paul Scholes would offload Bruno Fernandes and another Man Utd star from Old Trafford in heartbeat now

Paul Scholes didn’t hesitate to say that Bruno Fernandes and one key Manchester United first-team player would be sold tomorrow if he had the chance to make it happen.

Bruno Fernandes has found himself in hot water after the Red Devils skipper spoke out against Michael Carrick after the club’s Champions League defeat last week.

The 32-year-old Manchester United captain questioned the tactics deployed by Michael Carrick and his coaching staff in the crushing 4-1 defeat to Como in Italy.

Fernandes’ remarks in his post-match interview saw him dropped to the bench in a rare moment from under-pressure United manager Carrick at the weekend.

Paul Scholes and Nicky Butt have given their verdicts on possible Michael Carrick replacements

Both say NO to Eddie Howe and YES to Roy Keane

Keane would last around 10 minutes in that board room!

What qualities does Roy Keane have to become manager of Manchester United. He's another ex player, albeit a very good one , some management experience, like all ex players turned pundit , he regularly has a go at just about everyone and everything United, the players, the managers , Ineos , Glazers , and Sir Alex. Sounds perfect 🤣🤣

I actually agree with them for once. If we want real change though we need to rid ourselves of anything from Uniteds past.

Paul Scholes would sell both Bruno Fernandes and Lisandro Martinez as Nicky Butt reacts to the Man Utd captain

Bruno Fernandes watched on from the Old Trafford dugout as Manchester United suffered a 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth in Sunday’s Premier League clash. The Portugal international was spotted on the touchline warming up in the second half of United’s encounter with Bournemouth.

However, Michael Carrick snubbed Fernandes as a substitute option, despite the Red Devils chasing the match on Sunday afternoon. Speaking on his podcast, Paul Scholes admitted that Man Utd captain Fernandes and Lisandro Martinez would be on his immediate chopping block at Old Trafford.

“Well, from what Bruno Fernandes did last week, I think that was unforgivable,” he said on The Good, The Bad & The Football podcast.

“Martinez for what he said as well, which is now, look, I’m not saying it’s wrong what he said. It’s not his business. That [has] nothing to do with you.”

Lisandro Martinez put the spotlight on himself earlier this month after he criticised Ineos and United director of football Jason Wilcox in a bombshell interview. The 28-year-old Argentina international later apologised in a statement on social media and was reportedly subjected to a fine over his remarks.

Nicky Butt was deeply critical of Fernandes after he spoke out about Carrick and feels that the Portuguese midfielder has tarnished his reputation at Man Utd.

“We sing his praises for his abilities,” he said.

“He’s been the only player for the last 12, 13 years that I’ve gone, ‘I know what it means to play for this football club and I’m good enough to play football and I’m going to carry it on my shoulders and I’m going to lead it. I’m going to score goals. I’m going to create. I’m not leaving. I’m staying. I’m fighting the fight.

“And he’s killed himself in one interview. Stupid.”

United will now return to Premier League action on Saturday afternoon and the Red Devils will face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon. Kick-off for the Man Utd vs Chelsea match is slated for 12:30 pm UK time.
