Morrison played under Mowbray at the Hawthorns and insisted the Rovers head coach had a “big part in my career”.
The 40-year-old, who took charge of the Baggies at the end of last season, saw his side fight back from 2-0 down to take the points from Mowbray’s men.
“It was obviously nice to see him and that warmth I talk about with him, but I'm sure he's probably not happy at the moment,” he said.
“I think I'll cherish that, going up against a former manager. It’s a good trait to have, I went up against a manager who had a big part in my career.”
“Before the game, obviously we meet with the referees. He was trying a bit of a reverse psychology with me,” Morrison smiled.
When asked if they would be having a drink together, he replied: “He doesn’t drink, a chocolate bar maybe."
West Brom have now won back-to-back games and sit fifth in the Championship table following a strong start to the campaign.
Morrison admitted he was surprised by his side’s slow start against Rovers but praised their response to turn the contest on its head.
“Really bad start, didn't anticipate this at all,” he said. “I thought we would be on the front foot after Tuesday night.
“It just shows that you can't walk into games without having the intensity, taking too many touches and not battling the first of all.
“The one thing that we did have, we had time to get back into it. We had some passages where we were cutting through them, but also we were creating some chances.
“We reacted with Jason's chance and obviously it was difficult. But it was important that we got the next goal, get to half-time and get the belief back into the players.”
Morrison continued: “Obviously, there was a lot of tension in the ground but I was calm because I could see it.
“It was just about getting the belief into the players, staying calm and taking the game by the scruff of the neck.”
