Barcelona have suffered another travel setback ahead of their UEFA Champions League showdown against Paris Saint-Germain, with thick fog delaying the team's flight to Paris and forcing changes to their pre-match schedule.
The Catalan club had planned to depart Barcelona's El Prat Airport at approximately 10:30 a.m. local time on Monday, October 19. However, adverse weather conditions disrupted the journey, delaying take-off until 11:50 a.m. The squad subsequently arrived in the Paris area at around 2 p.m., reducing the time available for their planned preparations.
According to reports, the disruption was linked to poor visibility and weather-related problems affecting flights to the French capital. Although the delay lasted around 80 minutes beyond the scheduled departure, it added another complication to Barcelona's preparations for one of their biggest European fixtures of the season.
The flight delay came just days after Barcelona experienced difficulties travelling following their La Liga encounter against Real Betis.
Hansi Flick's side secured an impressive 5-2 victory over Betis on Saturday, October 17. However, storms affecting Barcelona disrupted the team's return journey, leaving the players waiting aboard their aircraft in Seville before they eventually spent the night in the Andalusian city.
The squad returned to Barcelona on Sunday morning, leaving little time before the next trip to Paris. The successive disruptions added pressure to an already demanding schedule as the club prepared for Tuesday's Champions League match.
Barcelona had hoped to follow their planned travel timetable, allowing the players time to rest before attending media commitments and completing their final training session at the Parc des Princes. Despite the delay, the team eventually reached Paris ahead of the fixture.
Travel disruption is not Barcelona's only concern ahead of the meeting with Paris Saint-Germain. The club also faces defensive selection problems following injuries to Jules Koundé and Eric García.
Both players were ruled out after sustaining injuries during the victory over Real Betis, dealing Flick another setback before a crucial run of matches.
Barcelona have also been managing the absences of Andreas Christensen and Roony Bardghji, further limiting their options. The situation has increased the importance of squad depth as the team prepares to face the French champions.
Flick must now balance the need to compete against PSG with the demands of Barcelona's upcoming fixtures, including Sunday's El Clásico against Real Madrid.

Barcelona are scheduled to face PSG at the Parc des Princes on Tuesday, October 20, in the third round of the Champions League league phase. The contest represents a significant test for both sides as they look to strengthen their position in the competition.
The travel delay was relatively limited, but its timing added another challenge during a busy week. Barcelona will be hoping that the disruption does not affect the players' recovery or concentration ahead of kick-off.
With PSG awaiting and a high-profile meeting against Real Madrid approaching, Flick's immediate priority will be ensuring his squad is physically prepared and defensively organised for the Paris encounter.
