The Oklahoma City Thunder have filled their final roster standard spot. They have reportedly signed Dalen Terry to a two-year deal, per ESPN's Shams Charania. After a little bit of an adventure with the No. 15 spot, they finally land on a guy.
Terry has played the last four seasons in the NBA. He was the No. 18 pick of the 2022 NBA draft. He spent the first three-plus years with the Chicago Bulls before finishing last season with the Philadelphia 76ers. The 24-year-old has averaged 3.5 points on 44.3% shooting, 1.7 rebounds and 1.2 assists in his career.
After the Thunder lost Chet Holmgren, Jalen Williams and Cason Wallace for the foreseeable future — and maybe for the entire 2026-27 season for the latter two — they had to fill in the vacant roster spot. Leaving it open was a luxury they couldn't afford any longer.
As mentioned earlier, it's been quite the ride to get to this point. The Thunder had previously signed Ochai Agbaji to a standard roster spot deal this past Friday. And then OKC backed out of it on Saturday. They had to recalibrate after learning Holmgren will miss two-plus months with a torn patellar tendon.
Now, Terry joins the Thunder. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led them to a much-needed win over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday. But they still badly need NBA-capable bodies to fill out their rotation. The hope is that he can be one of those guys.
