Another day, another game for Liverpool, who welcome Villarreal to Anfield in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

The Reds are in a good spot in the league phase of competition, currently sitting fifth after two wins from two, and with the top two, Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona, facing each other on Tuesday, a win is sure to fire them even further up the table and closer to reaching the last 16.

But after boss Andoni Iraola admitted he was set to make changes amid Liverpool's hectic schedule, how should the Reds line up this evening?

Our Reds writers have made their calls.

Whisper it quietly, but Liverpool might be coming into something resembling a bit of form. Well, until their players became constantly injured, that is.

There are more ahead of the Champions League game against Villarreal. What, then, is Reds boss Andoni Iraola to do? Rotation will be in effect once again, but perhaps not as much as might be expected.

Alisson Becker remains in goal while Ronald Araujo stays at right-back with skipper Virgil van Dijk and Jeremy Jacquet the centre-backs. However, a change at left-back where Kostas Tsimikas comes in.

In midfield, Ryan Gravenberch is back after suspension and can partner Alexis Mac Allister at the base, with Florian Wirtz the number 10.

And up top, Cody Gakpo can return down the middle, with Rio Ngumoha on the right and Bradley Barcola continuing on the left.

My team (4-2-3-1): Alisson; Araujo, Jacquet, Van Dijk, Tsimikas; Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Ngumoha, Wirtz, Barcola; Gakpo.

Andoni Iraola hinted that tonight’s game might be one where he rings a few changes and given it is high-flying Brighton who are visiting Anfield on Sunday, that makes sense to me.

So I think Kostas Tsimikas will come in at left-back and Milos Kerkez can have a rest. There is the option to start Ronald Araujo at centre-back but I suspect the Uruguay international will begin at right-back and Virgil van Dijk can partner Jeremy Jacquet.

Ryan Gravenberch’s return in midfield is a no-brainer for me alongside Alexis Mac Allister and Florian Wirtz starts once more in that No.10 role.

Rio Ngumoha starts for me on the right and Victor Munoz can wait in reserve. I’m going to give Bradley Barcola a breather too and name Cody Gakpo off the left. Alexander Isak leads the line.

My team (4-2-3-1): Alisson; Araujo, Jacquet, Van Dijk, Tsimikas; Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Ngumoha, Wirtz, Gakpo; Isak.

The gap between this game against Villarreal and Sunday's one against Brighton must feel enormous for these Liverpool players given the exhausting nine days they are about to come to the end of, and Andoni Iraola will understandably have to make some changes after Saturday's battle at Brentford.

Alisson stays in goal though, with Ronald Araujo at right-back, Kostas Tsimikas at left-back and Virgil van Dijk partnering Joe Gomez in the centre, offering Jeremy Jacquet the night off.

Ryan Gravenberch returns in the centre alongside Alexis Mac Allister, with Rio Ngumoha back in from the start on the right, Florian Wirtz through the middle and Cody Gakpo back in the off the left as Bradley Barcola looks like he needs a rest.

Then Alexander Isak starts in attack, but will ideally only play for an hour.

My team (4-2-3-1): Alisson; Araujo, Gomez, Van Dijk, Tsimikas; Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Ngumoha, Wirtz, Gakpo; Isak.
