The Tennessee Titans fell to the Cincinnati Bengals in overtime on Sunday in a performance that surprised many and saw massive contributions from unexpected players. Tennessee needed some players to step up after trading Jeffery Simmons to the Chicago Bears, and for at least one week, they delivered.
While Cam Ward's career day, including his first 300-yard passing game, will likely steal headlines, the Titans’ defense accomplished something that hasn’t happened in the NFL for 19 years: individual players recording three sacks and three interceptions in the same game.
New team captain Amani Hooker (three interceptions) and Jacob Martin (three sacks) did it, and those plays were key to giving Tennessee a chance to win.
This was also a profitable day for Hooker, who earned $250,000 with his three interceptions, and is now only one interception away from reaching his $500,000 incentive (six interceptions). Martin now leads Tennessee with 6.5 sacks and has already surpassed his career high set in 2025 with the Washington Commanders.
