Persistence paid off for Miami on Thursday.
The Hurricanes picked up a commitment from five-star wide receiver Brysen Wright which was announced through his social media page. Mario Cristobal's staff beat out the likes of Texas and Florida who were both in Wright's final three schools.
Miami has been in pursuit of Wright from the very beginning of his journey as it was the first program to offer him a scholarship.
Wright was considered the top wide receiver in the class of 2028, however during his announcement he confirmed that he will reclassify to the class of 2027.
Staying in state was already going to be a smoother transition for Wright who is a Jacksonville, Fla. native, but he will also join the team with familiarity at the quarterback position. Miami has already received a commitment from Wright's current quarterback at Mandarin High School, Knox Annis, who made his pledge to the team back in April.
Miami's 2027 class is already inching towards becoming the top in the nation, and with Wright now a part of the group, it's made its case to be No. 1.
