Former Alabama national champion and All-SEC defensive back Jalyn Armour-Davis has signed with the Los Angeles Chargers, the organization announced Monday. Armour-Davis will join the Chargers practice squad, potentially preparing for a jump to the main roster as he returns from an Achilles injury in 2025.
Armour-Davis, a 2022 fourth round pick, was a starter for the Tennessee Titans for a majority of last season before he suffered a torn Achilles in Week 17. He had 34 tackles and two pass breakups last season before the injury.
He was a fourth round pick by the Ravens in 2022 and appeared in 19 games with three starts in three seasons in Baltimore before being waived ahead of the 2025 season. He then signed with the Titans where he eventually earned the starting job last season.
Armour-Davis was at Alabama for four years. He missed his full first season in 2018 due to injury. Then, was a reserve player on defense and a special teamer on the 2019-20 squads before he had a breakout 2021 campaign that led to him being a second team All-SEC selection that season. He recorded 32 tackles and three interceptions in 2021. He was a key special teamer for the 2020 national championship team.
The Chargers currently have three former Alabama players on their roster in JK Scott, Dalvin Tomlinson, and Justin Eboigbe. All three are on the active roster.
