Tom Brady called out for 'weirdly' having it out for NFL quarterback
Dre Greenlaw hit Sam Darnold as he was out of bounds... but Tom Brady had no sympathy

Dozens of NFL fans were all left saying the same thing about Tom Brady's most recent game with FOX after continuing to make sly digs at one of his former rival quarterbacks

Tom Brady did not hide his criticism — and, in many fans' eyes, disdain — for Sam Darnold while calling the Seattle Seahawks' game against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 5.

The 49ers defeated the Seahawks in a close game up in the Pacific Northwest, with Seattle running out of time to try and find a winning score after Jaxon Smith-Njigba surprisingly dropped a ball from Darnold, which would have put them in position to tie the game and head to overtime.

The Seahawks quarterback threw two interceptions and was sacked five times in a suboptimal performance by his recent standards, but Brady still seemed to see the old Darnold in his play while being very critical of his game. One moment in particular had fans saying the same thing after Brady appeared to blame Darnold for him being hit out of bounds.

Niners linebacker Dre Greenlaw chased Darnold down before hitting him out of bounds, before he was flagged for unnecessary roughness.

Replays showed that Greenlaw had head-butted Seahawks star Ernest Jones IV, who was not wearing a helmet, while the San Francisco linebacker had his on. Greenlaw was given a one-game suspension.

The replays also showed that Darnold was clearly out of bounds when Greenlaw hit him, and he went to the ground after the hit. Brady was not too pleased, stating he was "acting."

He said on commentary, "I don’t think that’s an illegal hit at all. I know they might call a penalty, but Dre Greenlaw’s on a full sprint to make sure Darnold’s not gaining anywhere close to the first down mark, which is exactly what Darnold’s doing.

"And then it’s a little nudge out of bounds and Darnold with the acting.”

The remark raised eyebrows among NFL fans and media, with Awful Announcing calling the take "weird." Although Brady states he does not believe it was an illegal hit, the rulebook appears clear on such incidents.

In Rule 12, Section 2, Article 8 of the Official NFL Rulebook, it states that "once a quarterback or ball carrier steps completely out of bounds, the ball is dead. Any avoidable, late, or gratuitous contact delivered by a defender after that point is flagged."

In this case, images show that Darnold had two feet out of bounds when Greenlaw hit the back of him, which drew Seahawks players to react on the sideline.

Brady, of course, has to be careful when criticizing NFL officials. He is not allowed to do so because he owns the Las Vegas Raiders.

In addition to being unable to criticize officials, Brady also cannot set foot on another team's premises, watch practices, or even be overly critical of other teams.
