The energy inside ‘Ballhalla’ was electric even before the Golden State Valkyries took the floor for Game 2 of the WNBA Finals against the Atlanta Dream. Courtside seats were packed with a star-studded lineup of Bay Area icons, and even the Golden State Warriors showed up in full force to support their sister franchise. But what caught the eye of a WNBA broadcaster was the three-point GOAT sharing the moment with his special little girl.
As the cameras panned across Chase Center, they landed on the most recognizable face in the Bay Area, 12-time NBA All-Star Stephen Curry. The footage showed Curry dripped out in a black Valkyries sweatshirt, with the iconic purple Valkyries T-shirt draped around his neck. Sitting alongside Stephen Curry was his daughter, Ryan Carson Curry, wearing a purple Valkyries pullover over a grey hoodie. The broadcaster can be heard enthusiastically pointing out the father-daughter duo, who looked comfy in their seats per an X post by the WNBA, ready to witness history as the Dream prepared to equalize the series score.
“Number 30, Stephan Curry! Yes. We see your daughter!”
Stephen Curry’s name is synonymous with the Golden State franchise, as he has spent his entire career with the team. Curry was drafted by the Warriors with the seventh overall pick in 2009 and is currently playing his 18th season in the Bay Area. Curry has been the cornerstone of the Warriors, leading the team to four championships and winning two consecutive MVP awards during the 2014–15 and historic 2015–16 seasons. But he wasn’t the only Warriors heavyweight who had shown up to support the Valkyries.
The Warriors’ primary defensive anchor and forward, Draymond Green, was also present as the Valkyries played their very first WNBA Finals series. The Warriors must inspire a unique loyalty, as Green, like Stephen Curry, has been with the team since being drafted in 2012. He was part of the Warriors’ Big Three alongside Curry and Klay Thompson, who won four championships, before Thompson departed for the Dallas Mavericks in 2024 and later joined the Miami Heat for the 2026 season.
Curry was later joined by Warriors rookie Yaxel Lendeborg, who was spotted taking his seat courtside. But some Warriors stars were there even before the main event. Chris Paul, who played the 2023-24 season with the Warriors, was spotted courtside as the teams took the floor for warm-up drills. The ‘Point God’ was seen sporting a classic black Valkyries sweatshirt with the striking logo across the front, clearly in support of Golden State.
It’s no wonder the stands are filled with the best of the best tonight, as the Golden State Valkyries have become the fastest expansion team in league history to reach the finals. The Valkyries, in just their second year of existence, racked up a 32-12 record and entered the postseason seeded second, above the fourth-seeded Atlanta Dream. The Valkyries have truly been incredible all season, putting together the league’s most formidable defense under head coach Natalie Nakase’s watchful eye.
Game one showed why the Dream and the Valkyries were the league’s defensive heavyweights, with some of the lowest scores we have seen from either team all season. In a game that ended in a 68-64 win for the Valkyries, Gabby Williams was the only player on the Golden State roster to score in the double digits with 26 points. In contrast, the Dream core – Angel Reese, Allisha Gray, and Rhyne Howard – all put up double digits, with Gray leading the charge with 19 points.
But the Valkyries’ defense eventually overwhelmed Atlanta in the fourth quarter. It was a relatively low-scoring game, with the Dream making 4-of-25 three-pointers and the Valkyries making 7-of-33. Despite Reese’s game-high 12 rebounds, the Valkyries outrebounded the Dream 41 to 35, winning their first-ever WNBA Finals game.
As Chase Center gears up for Game 2, the NBA stars’ presence underscored the tight-knit bond between the two organizations sharing the arena floor, celebrating a unified “One Team, One Family” motto as the Valkyries fought to extend their Finals lead.
