Tennessee Titans vs. Cincinnati Bengals Week 8: Gimme Him

The Tennessee Titans head a few hours northeast in Week 8 to face the Cincinnati Bengals at Paycor Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio.

As of this writing, the Titans are 10.5-point underdogs, per BetMGM, although only two of the Titans' losses have been by six points or more. Those two losses came in Week 1 against the New York Jets and Week 5 against the Houston Texans. The other four losses have been by six points or less, which shows how close the Titans have come to winning more games.

In this week's edition of Gimmie Him, we discussed several players the Titans would want to stel from the Bengals in Week 8. There were plenty of options to choose from as the Bengals have several elite players in positions that would help the Titans, but, ultimately, we landed on Bengals' quarterback Joe Burrow.

Titans' quarterback Cam Ward has continued to struggle in 2026. Maybe it's not all his fault because there's a definite coaching aspect that isn't landing with him, but he still has to figure out a way to improve. Through seven games, Ward has four touchdowns and five interceptions while completing 62% of his passes for less than 1,200 yards. He ranks 22nd among all quarterbacks in passing yards, and has a rating of 73.8.

Meanwhile, Burrow is the 12th-ranked quarterback in the league. He has 15 touchdowns and just three interceptions, and has completed 71.7% of his passes for 1,653 yards with a rating of 110.4. The Bengals had their bye in Week 6, so Burrow has one less game under his belt than Ward, and he was one of the AFC Players of the Week for Week 7. Having Burrow under center would be a significant upgrade at the quarterback position for the Titans.

Ward still has untapped potential, and even if all he did at this point was clean up his mistakes, he'd see a significant improvement in his game. But something isn't clicking with him this season, and it's worse than it was last season. Part of that is on Brian Daboll for not developing Ward correctly, but Ward has to shoulder some of that responsibility, too. He has to make faster decisions and throw accurate passes. He hasn't been able to do that consistently this season, which is why Burrow is on our radar.

It certainly would be fun to watch Joe Burrow find Carnell Tate and Elic Ayomanor down the field for some huge plays, but Burrow will be too busy throwing those bombs to Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins instead. The Titans will have to make do with Ward under center and pray that something finally clicks for the second-year quarterback. If not, the second half of the season is going to be incredibly difficult for Tennessee.
