Walking football club receives second year of sponsorship

Winchester Walking Football Club is being sponsored for a second year by Winchester Mobility, a family-run business based at Scylla Industrial Park in Winnall.

The club offers slower-paced football for men and women aged 50 and over and now plays in the sponsor’s colours.

Lee Cogan, owner of Winchester Mobility, said: "We’re delighted to be sponsoring Winchester Walking Football Club for another season.

"This is our second year, and we absolutely love the kit.

The business supplies mobility scooters, wheelchairs and other equipment to help people stay active and independent, alongside repairs, servicing, hire and home demonstrations.

Mr Cogan said: "It’s fantastic to see both the men’s and women’s teams out there enjoying the game, and they’re pretty good at it too."

The club is affiliated to the Hampshire FA and the Walking Football Association.

The club meets every Tuesday morning at Winchester City FC and welcomes people of all abilities to stay active and enjoy football’s social side in later life.

The club's over-65s team also secured a place in the Walking Football Association National Cup Finals after beating Plymouth Argyle Community 2-1 in the South West Regional Final.
