Multiple teams have trade interest in Colts running back Jonathan Taylor, Stephen Holder of ESPN reports. It is unclear whether the Colts will be sellers at the trade deadline.
The Colts fired General Manager Chris Ballard on Monday, with Ed Dodds serving as the interim G.M. Head coach Shane Steichen could be on his way out, too, if the 2-4 Colts can turn it around.
Taylor, 27, led the league in carries (323), touchdowns (18) and first downs (84) last season.
“I haven’t given any thought,” Taylor said when asked about his future Thursday. “That’d be crazy right now, especially because we’ve got a great Minnesota Vikings team that we have to go against. I think it would be a discredit and a disservice to my teammates and this whole organization to think about what could, what should, what may be.”
A second-round pick of the Colts in 2020, Taylor has signed two contract extensions. The most recent, a three-year deal, was signed in August and his annual average of $22 million ranks third at his position.
Taylor has 122 carries for 492 yards and seven touchdowns in six games this season. He has 1,673 carries for 8,090 yards and 76 touchdowns.
