England back rower Jasmin Strange will miss the rest of the Women’s Rugby League World Cup due to injury, in what is a crucial blow to the side.
The Sydney Roosters forward was one of five NRLW players to be named in Stuart Barrow’s week one squad to face Wales, joining Fran Goldthorp, Georgia Roche, Hollie-Mae Dodd and Hope Millard.
However, a knee injury will now see her sidelined for the rest of the tournament, and she will be heavily missed given her vast experience.
A Premiership winner with the Roosters in 2026, Strange qualifies for England through heritage, as both of her parents were born in this part of the world.
A try scorer on debut against the Welsh, she carried for 116 metres from 16 runs, made a line break, set up a try and made 17 tackles.
At this stage, England will not be bringing in a replacement for Strange, with Leeds Rhinos back rower Lucy Murray expected to take her place in the starting line-up.
Murray has two international games to her name so far, and has scored three tries in appearances against Wales in 2025 and France in 2026.
Jasmin Strange has been ruled out of the remainder of the World Cup with a knee injury
